Helemoor Lodge is a wonderful lakeside retreat set within its own traditional Devonshire meadow. It is the perfect romantic escape and relaxing haven for walkers, cyclists and those who just love to fish. The fabulous location is also superb for families looking to explore the many attractions in the local area.

Helemoor Lodge is situated on the outskirts of the village of Moretonhampstead, on Dartmoor National Park in Devon. Owned and managed by the Street family, this is a newly built lodge within its own acre and a half meadow.

There are beautiful views from the lodge of its own private fishing lake, the wonderful estate and local countryside.

On arrival you will be welcomed with a hamper full of local Devon goodies and fresh eggs from the estate chickens.

Finished to a high standard, the Lodge has oak flooring throughout. There are three luxury bedrooms; two doubles and one single. All have fitted wardrobes, Egyptian cotton linen, bathrobes and hairdryers.

There is a large tiled bathroom with Mira power shower, Egyptian cotton towels and luxury toiletries.

The spacious open plan lounge, dining room and fully equipped kitchen is very homely. The kitchen includes a fridge, oven, hob, cooker hood, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, all crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment. The Lodge also has a utility room with washing machine and small freezer. The lodge is serviced by Helemoor Natural Spring Water.

The lounge has a Freeview TV, DVD Blu-ray player and CD /Radio, there is also complimentary WiFi throughout the Lodge. Board games, DVD’s and books offer days and evenings of fun for guests during their stay.

Outside there is a decked sun terrace with outdoor dining furniture, sun loungers and a gas barbecue. Next to the Lodge there is also a rotary washing line.

There are two fishing rods provided for your use on the private carp fishing lake outside the lodge. Guests can also pay to use the main facilities of the Fishery within the Estate.

The Lodge sleeps a maximum of five guests.

Helemoor Lodge is situated between a small Dartmoor village of Moretonhampstead the gateway to the moors which has three traditional Devon Inns with good food and local ale, also a fine Devon butchers with local quality meat and a deli. There are the National Trust Almshouses which date back to 1450s with Major 1637 addition which are situated in cross street.

Moretonhampstead has a population of approx 1,552 and has a health centre, also has the smallest cottage hospital in the country only having 9 beds. There are two Tea rooms, a pharmacy and a great hardware store plus a convenient store.
 
Within a 10 minute walk from Helemoor is a 13 century village of North Bovey with it’s typical chocolate box cottages, with a lovely cosy thatched Inn with open log fires and more traditional ales also excellent food.
 
The prestige’s Bovey Castle Hotel is offering Traditional Devon cream teas and 18 hole golf course is also near by. About a mile from the village of North Bovey is the Dartmoor Hawking Falconry Experience.
