Description Midlands Farm is situated in a tranquil spot within Dartmoor National Park with panoramic views of the moor. It is a set in 12 acres which is home for our horses. The property is very well fitted, just bring your personal belongings and it is like moving into your second home. The accommodation is behind the main house and is accessed through a courtyard into a small porch. To the left is a very well equipped kitchen, with cooker/microwave/fridge-freezer/dishwasher, a utility/laundry room with washing machine/tumble dryer/iron and a downstairs loo.  To the right the conservatory doubles as dining room and is a relaxing place to sit.  There is a large selection of books and address labels are provided to enable you to return books which have not been finished in time for your departure. Board games, videos and dvd’s are also available.  French windows on either side of the conservatory lead to the garden and patio, or take you into a cosy lounge with a coal effect electric fire, TV, video & DVD; one of the sofas pulls out into a bed.  Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin; bedding and towels are included. The bathroom has a bath with an electric shower over.  The property is heated throughout with night storage heating. Well behaved dogs are welcome downstairs (not on any furniture), a child gate can be fitted at the bottom of the stairs. Safe parking is at the front of the property inside the gates. Wi Fi is available, by request,  on a daily slot basis. Smoking is not permitted indoors. Outside is a large garden and fields, which are usually available for children to play in. There is access to the local footpath network through fields, along the river Tavy or onto Dartmoor, from the property.  On a clear night the sky is brilliant with stars, as there is little light pollution the milky way can be seen clearly. Local Pubs -The Elephants Nest is a 5 minute amble, or for the slightly more active, a half- hour walk across the fields, over the river Tavy takes you to the Peter Tavy Inn.  Both are traditional 16th century country inns offering good quality home-made dishes prepared from fresh local produce and a selection of real ales. Tavistock, (5 miles) is a charming market town with many locally owned shops and a pannier market. Village post office and general store 1.5 miles Pony trekking 1.5 miles. Cycle route 27 goes past the end of the road.  Cycle hire is available at Sourton with access to less challenging rides along straight onto the old railway line. Walking is superb whether you’re looking for a challenging trek across windswept moors, or just a relaxing stroll, Dartmoor is perfect.
