(April to July)
These will concentrate on areas such as Yarner Wood, Trendlebere Down and the Bovey Valley Woodlands where a wide range of birds of upland oakwoods (pied flycatcher, lesser spotted woodpecker etc.) and heathlands (Dartford warbler) can be seen. Many of the typical moorland species (wheatear, snipe, curlew, lapwing) can also be found nearby.

These forays will provide an introduction to fungi and how to identify some of the more common edible and poisonous species.
Dusk Walks

These last from 8 pm. to 10.00 pm. and provide participants with the chance to see roe deer, badgers, foxes, glow worms and the ghostly nightjar.
Winter Bird Walks
Although there are fewer species on Dartmoor in winter, resident birds such as Dartford warbler and lesser spotted woodpecker can still be seen as well as winter visitors such as fieldfare, redwing and woodcock.
