| | Title The warren house inn walk.
With a cosy bar with relaxing dim lights the warren house is the perfect
end to a walk.
A lovely view is preformed when you walk across the hills on the way I
saw Grimspound, tin mines and granite quarries.
The granite quarries used to get the large blocks and lift them onto a
flat topped truck by the means of a derrick (the derrick is a very big
wooden wind up crane, imprints of a derrick
Are found on Haytor quarry) the top of the derrick is held vertically by
metal rods which were joined to allow flexing under the load.
Rocks all over Dartmoor have indentations of accurate circles and shapes
that the miners have left.
The pub food is extraordinary with a high range of drinks to die for,
the warren house is just a delightful place to be after a tiring walk.
If I was to choose a pub to walk to I would choose the warren house inn
any day!
