These asphalt products are produced at Linhay Hill Quarry, Ashburton, Devon using the quarry's own limestone aggregates and conform to the appropriate European / British Standards.
All asphalts produced at Glendinning are quality assured under the BS EN ISO 9001.
Enviromat
A new, environmentally friendly product named “Enviromat” is now available from Glendinning. This new addition to the product range is a cold-lay asphalt.
The development of this new product utilises recycled products in an asphalt mix, which in turn reduces the demand for the extraction of primary materials. Although similar to conventional asphalt this new material is produced with foaming bitumen, which coats the finer particles to form a homogeneous mass. The major benefit is that subject to the type of application this material can be stored unlike traditional asphalt, which has a very limited shelf life.

Our acquisition of MCM, Cofton Road, Exeter (awaiting accreditation) in July 2004, means that our market has developed geographically which has enlarged our capacity to provide quality service and delivery to our customers.
Our products are available in a range of vehicle capacities including 8.0, 6.2, 6.0, 3.8 and 1.0 cubic metres.

Agricultural Lime and Chalk
Modern science and technology, through long term research, has confirmed the benefits of using agricultural lime or chalk, which is today recognised as essential to all forms of plant and animal life.
Lime is vital to promote the bacterial action which is required to rot down plant detritus into useful crop fertiliser.
We are the only company within the South West that provides a complete service for soil testing through to quarrying, production and haulage.
The quality materials we supply are accepted throughout the industry as being of the highest standard.
Agricultural Lime
Lime ensures:
maximum availability of plant foods such as phosphate, nitrogen, potash and calcium, and
that better quality grasses and clovers flourish, while keeping fields free from acid-loving weeds.
Lime should be applied:
as often as necessary to maintain a pH as near to 6.5 as possible on arable and 6.0 on grassland;
before or after ploughing, but preferably before sowing and when weather permits.
Lime produced at Glendinning's Linhay Hill Quarry is of high quality and has a neutralising value of 53%, and a fineness of 46% through a 150 micron sieve.
This product complies with the Fertiliser Regulations specification for ground limestone.

Chalk
Ground chalk produced at our Shapwick Quarry, Uplyme, has a neutralising value of 44% with 98% passing through a 63mm sieve.
Our Lump chalk is approximately 20mm in size and is used extensively in cow cubicles and sheep sheds.
