About the Hotel

The hotel has luxurious suites and en-suite bedrooms, each with colour television, radio, direct-dial phone and hairdryer. Some rooms have balconies and most have views over the expansive lawn, moorland garden and our Wildflower Meadow.

The Wildflower Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) Devon Cream Teas, dinner and Sunday lunches to guests and non-residents, with a stunning view across the garden onto Dartmoor.

The Dartmoor Bar is open all day everyday and during the evening serving drinks, light snacks and lunch to residents and non-residents.

Hotel guests can also relax in the reading lounge, a comfortable and quiet place to unwind after a day exploring Dartmoor or working in Plymouth.

The Crystal Room, a chandelier-lit ballroom with a sprung wooden dance floor, stage area and room for up to 160 (seated) guests. Perfect for weddings, special occasions, celebrations, small gatherings and catered events.

The Mayflower Bar with its vaulted-ceiling and separate entrance is available to hire as part of a Wedding, Event or Celebration of any kind.

An Idyllic Setting For Your Special Day

Newly refurbished, the Moorland Garden Hotel is the ideal venue for weddings. Located on the edge of Dartmoor National Park in Devon we have three licensed rooms for civil ceremonies and can cater for between 20 and 160 guests.

Our stunning 'Crystal Room', complete with chandeliers, one of the South West's largest sprung wooden dance floors, stage area for entertainment and views across the gardens is a wonderfully romantic setting where you can enjoy the wedding of your dreams.

The 'Mayflower' has its own entrance and attractive vaulted ceiling, while the 'Moorland' is perfect for couples wanting a minimal guest list of between 2 to 40. Whichever room you decide, our picturesque moorland gardens provide the perfect backdrop for those all important wedding photographs.

We have several Wedding Packages for you to choose from, but we are also more than happy to create a bespoke package especially for you.

Conferences & Events

As well as our magnificent chandelier-lit ballroom - perfect for weddings, Christmas parties, special occasions and celebrations - we have three specialist rooms for hosting events, seminars, workshops and meetings.

We can host events for 2 to 150 delegates.

The layout of each room can be adapted to suit your requirements and will be set up with paper, pens, soft drinks, mineral water and wrapped sweets. A full range of audio/visual equipment is available by prior arrangement.

Internet access and car parking is provided free of charge to all delegates and we can provide overnight accommodation and catering at your prior request.

The extensive grounds are particularly suited to team building exercises and delegates can relax in the hotel's bars, the Dartmoor and the Mayflower, or enjoy afternoon tea on the lawn.

'The Tavistock Room' is a popular venue for training days and syndicate work for between 30 - 50 people and the near-by 'Moorland Room' is ideal for smaller meetings, interviews or as a breakout area for up to 20 delegates.
