Description

Pink cottage is a cosy, rural thatched cottage, traditionally built from Dartmoor granite. It is situated in the “Middle Moor” in the pretty village of Ponsworthy.  It is ideally situated for walking Dartmoor or exploring by car and is a great base from which to enjoy the many outdoor attributes that Dartmoor provides.

The cottage is a wonderful escape from the outside world as there is no telephone or television to interrupt your peaceful break but wifi is available. Mobile telephone signals are available at the top of the hill.

The accommodation for up to four people includes a large double bedroom upstairs and on the ground floor a sitting room, kitchen, bunk bedroom to accommodate adults or children and bathroom with a bath and shower. There is off road parking.

There is a peaceful “cottage” garden to the rear of the property from which you can often watch buzzards circling whilst hearing the sound of the West Webburn River.

Golf, pony trekking, fishing, canoeing and other moorland activities are available locally and there are many picturesque walks from the front door, including the Two Moors Way and various circular walks. The Tavistock Inn at Poundsgate approx 1 mile, the Rugglestone Inn at Venton Bridge near Widecombe and the Old Inn in Widecombe are about 2 miles away and all provide a good variety of pub fare.

Widecombe–in-the–Moor is close by and offers a village shop and nearby Ashburton has a fine selection of shops. Nearby there are many more activities such as Pennywell Farm, a Marble Museum and a tannery market in Tavistock. The South Devon Coast with its many beaches and delightful harbours is within easy reach by car.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at an additional charge of £20 per booking
