Tavistock
Tavistock has everything you could want, not only as a place to live but also as a visitor to the area. Standing beside the fast flowing river Tavy, with a backdrop of Dartmoor's hills it is a perfect location for a stunningly lovely town, with grand buildings fashioned in local stone, a superb pannier market and a collection of shops (many privately owned) to rival any town of a similar size, its a great place to visit.
Its the feel of Tavistock that strikes you, vibrant, active, happening sort of place, with restaurants of various types, old pubs new bars, delicatessen’s to pasty shops its all there and in an attractive setting mostly surviving any 60s and 70s building disasters’.
Tavistock has something to offer everybody, having a great swimming pool with slides, tennis courts parks and great walking in any direction. There is also a really good theatre that doubles as a cinema.
