Welcome to The Knole, where guests return annually for the superb hospitality. The Victorian house is an idyllic countryside retreat, located on the edge of Dartmoor. Standing in its own grounds with superb views. Only 2 miles off the A30, which gives easy access to Exeter and Cornwall as well as most of the coastal resorts such as Bude, Newquay, the Eden Project, Torbay, and Ilfracombe which can be reached within an hours drive. There are also many National Trust properties in the area. Those who want more energetic activities can enjoy pony trekking, golf and walking on Dartmoor with it's abundant wildlife.

Do you need a break from the stress and hurly-burly of everyday life? Are you tired of  the hustle and bustle of town or city life?

If so, this is the place for you! Whether you want, a short break or longer holiday on Dartmoor, you can be sure that here you will be pampered, relaxed, well-fed with delicious farmhouse traditional food in Devon countryside at its very best.

You would not think from the peace and quiet and tranquillity here that we are only 3 miles from the main A30, and easily accessible from all areas of the country.

You can enjoy this idyllic location on the threshold of Dartmoor while being only a short distance from the rest of Devon and Cornwall.

You will be impressed with Knole when you first approach this imposing Victorian farmhouse up the curving avenue of old Beech trees. The extensive, 1.5 acre grounds with their beautiful mature trees.shrubs and flowers are such a pleasure to see.

Here you can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet, walk through the grounds, stroll through the countryside looking for the numerous and varied wildlife.

The farmhouse was built with stone quarried on the site and has well-proportioned rooms. The ensuite bedrooms each have a fridge, fresh milk, TV and hostess tray. There is a separate dining room, where evening meals can be served by prior arrangement. You are welcome to bring your own wine.

On chilly nights you can feel cosy in the lounge with its log fires. You can enjoy a quiet evening with a glass of wine and a book spent in the spacious conservatory overlooking the tors of Dartmoor.The views are fantastic!
